Sixties and Seventies melody makers Timbre N Strings (formerly G-Strings) will present a morning of entertainment at the Coolum Beach Hotel on 12th October at 9.30am.
The local guitar enthusiasts have teamed up with the hotel to provide a social get together for local seniors in the region.
Members, who perform with the Sunshine Coast Guitar Orchestra, also practice together outside of the Orchestra and play 60s and 70s music as well as classical and Spanish.
Guitarist Clive Holden said the group partnered with Coolum Beach Hotel to support its commitment of local charities.
“Tony and Donna Murray are fantastic with their sponsorship of local community groups. Over the last couple of years, Coolum HeARTs has received about $2000 through Coolum Beach Hotel’s sponsorship card,” he said.
“Those funds support Coolum HeARTs’ programs which provide free access to the arts for people who live with mental illness, depression and anxiety, physical and intellectual disability, domestic violence, the effects of alcohol and drug abuse and social isolation.”
Guest artists from the Coolum Hearts programs will also participate in the Merry Melodies entertainment, including the Heartbeats drumming group and I’m Still Standing Choir, as well as a few surprise artists.
